2025-2030 GUFC Strategic Plan

GUFC 2025 - 2030 Strategic Plan

Over May and June this year, we undertook a thorough and collaborative process to develop this plan.

-        We engaged players, parents, volunteers, coaches and community partners across all parts of Gippsland.

-        We ran surveys, workshops, and individual conversations to understand what’s working well and where we need to     improve.

-        We were supported by GippSport to ensure the process was evidence-based and aligned with broader regional           sporting priorities.

The result is a strategy that genuinely reflects the voices and aspirations of our members and our wider football community.

Across all that engagement, a few themes stood out very strongly:

-        We have strong participation and talent, but we need more structure in our development pathways.

-        Facilities and infrastructure came through as a major priority, with Baxter Park being a strength and the upcoming    Morwell redevelopment a huge opportunity.

-        Our volunteers are the backbone of the club, and we need better support, clearer roles and recognition.

-        And finally, members want to see stronger communication and a clearer identity across the whole region, uniting both our Warragul and Morwell hubs.

From this feedback we developed seven strategic pillars that will guide our growth and decision-making over the next five years. These focus on:

1.      Football Operations

2.      Infrastructure & Facilities

3.      Culture, Inclusion and Club Identity

4.      Governance,

5.      Communication& Engagement

6.      Financial Sustainability and Access

7.      Marketing & Visibility

These pillars ensure we are addressing our football programs, our people, our operations, and our place in the broader community.

This strategy will help us:

-        Strengthen what we already do well

-        Professionalise our operations

-        Create clearer pathways for boys and girls

-        Build a stronger, united identity

-        And position GUFC as Gippsland’s leading football club for years to come.

This is a strategy created by our community, for our community.
